Avianca signs on TCS to accelerate cloud transformation journey
Colombian airline Avianca has signed on homegrown IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to accelerate its transformation journey to the cloud.
As part of the engagement, TCS will modernise Avianca’s IT infrastructure and build a new future-ready cloud-based digital core on Microsoft Azure.
The company will leverage its extensive experience in successfully executing large transformation programmes to help the airline migrate 129 core applications to the cloud. It will also manage the new cloud estate.
The entire effort will be driven through TCS’ proprietary automation tools and accelerators, including TCS Cloud Counsel, a digitised cloud candidature assessment toolset and TCS Cloud Mason which helps organisations rapidly define, design and deploy cloud foundational platforms.
“Avianca is a valued customer of TCS and we are thrilled to partner with them to advance their multi horizon cloud transformation journey. The new cloud-based digital core that we design and build, will have a tremendous impact on their overall operations, sustainability and future growth,” Sowmya Rajagopalan, cloud-base head of Americas, Travel, Transportation and Hospitality (TTH), TCS, said.
With over 1,000 successful Azure engagements for 225-plus global customers, TCS’ Microsoft business unit works with customers worldwide to accelerate their multi-horizon cloud transformation journeys.
