TechThisWeek: Blaize founder Dinakar Munagala on fundraise and India plans

Dinakar Munagala, founder and CEO of California-based AI startup Blaize, joined the latest episode of TechThisWeek to speak about the company’s India plans and its recent fundraise.  

The AI edge computing solutions provider raised $71 million (about Rs 528 crore) in a Series D round of funding led by Franklin Templeton and returning investor Temasek Holdings. It aims to use the capital to accelerate its product roadmap and strengthen India operations. The company, which has a facility in Hyderabad with around 200 employees, is looking to further expanded it over the next 12-18 months, with fresh talent coming on board. 

Mungala told TechCircle that the Indian market offers expansive potential to drive AI-based transformational progress in agriculture, healthcare, smart city, and other areas.
