Watch: OYO's Rohit Kapoor on the global revival in the hospitality business
The hotels and hospitality business, post the Covid-19 pandemic era, is on the cusp of the strongest ever revival, according to Rohit Kapoor, CEO of India and Southeast Asia at OYO. The SoftBank Group Corp backed hospitality chain has seen business decline drastically during the pandemic but now believes the worst is behind the Gurugram based company.
“We are on the cusp of the biggest growth we will see in the next 2-3 years for the simple reason that the pandemic went against the basic nature of human beings to stay cooked up at home,” Kapoor said during a keynote at the recently concluded Mint-TechCircle Business Transformation Symposium.
Kapoor joined OYO in December 2018 to lead the company’s real estate businesses. In the ensuing 12 months he led the formation and growth of residential suites OYO Life and co-working spaces venture OYO WorkSpaces.
