BharatPe, PayNearby and ZEE Entertainment onboard new leadership members

Resilient Innovations-run payments and financial services startup BharatPe  has appointed Amit Jain as its chief risk officer. Jain will work closely with Ashneer Grover, BharatPe co-founder and CEO, and Suhail Sameer, the company’s group president. 

Jain is the third addition to BharatPe’s executive team in 2021. Earlier this year, the company announced the appointment of Gautam Kaushik (former managing director and CEO, PAYBACK) to lead the payments business, and Sumeet Singh (former partner at Amarchand Mangaldas) as general counsel and head of corporate strategy.

Jain has over 17 years of experience in portfolio and credit risk management across consumer and SME lending. Prior to joining BharatPe, he was the chief risk officer for consumer lending at Bajaj Finance. During his stint of more than nine years at Bajaj Finance, he held multiple roles including managing risk for personal loans, consumer lending, credit card, EMI cards and payments, as well as business head for the EMI cards portfolio.

Vivek Viswanathan is CTO at PayNearby 
 
Hyperlocal fintech network PayNearby said Vivek Viswanathan has joined its executive team as the chief technology officer. Viswanathan comes from a background in architecting, designing and building enterprise-grade products.

He will work closely with the company's product, data and analytics teams to harness the power of technology to enable seamless delivery of financial services to every Indian and drive the cause of financial inclusion and democratisation of digital payments in the country, the company said in a statement. 
 
Prior to PayNearby, Viswanathan oversaw Blue Yonder as vice president of product development to enable digital supply chain and omnichannel commerce fulfillment. He also led the engineering division of Setu – a fintech API platform - as the CTO, building APIs to help integrate financial services into the customers’ products. In his time at Ezetap, he helmed the expansion of the company as its vice predident engineering. He was also the co-founder and CEO at Stillwater - a social media startup.

Nitin Mittal joins ZEE Entertainment as president for technology and data

Media and entertainment major Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) has announced the appointment of Nitin Mittal as president – technology and data. Mittal will be responsible for leading the technology and data teams.

He will lead strategic initiatives in technology, data, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) and digital across the company to support the ZEE 4.0 transformation, the company said in a statement.

With over 20 years of experience, Mittal previous stints include National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Standard Chartered, IBM, TESCO, BNY Mellon, Wipro and the Future Group. He was also the founder and CEO of SOLV, a company focused on creating an open platform for B2B commerce.

In this new role, Mittal will will report to Punit Goenka, managing director and CEO, ZEE.
