CarDekho ramps up top deck with five tech, product VP hires

Jaipur based used-car buying and selling platform CarDekho Group has made five C-level hires to its engineering, technology and product development teams.  

Former Walmart executive Sandeep Singh and former Reliance Jio VP of engineering Mayank Kapoor have been appointed as vice presidents of engineering, while Manjeet Dahiya, the former head of machine learning and data science at Airtel’s music wing WYNK has been appointed as the vice president of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data sciences.  

Additionally, Uber, Amazon and Cisco executive Dharmesh Gandhi will now head the products division as vice president while Aditya Kumar, an entrepreneur who co-founded proximity marketing and sales platform for SMBs, CliffJumper Technologies, will now head the product strategy and analytics division as vice president.  

 All the five new VPs will report to CarDekho Group’s chief product and technology officer, Vivek Srivastava, according to a statement.  

“We are aggressively strengthening our product and tech teams to build world class technology products. We are strategically getting the right talent to achieve our vision of CarDekho,” Srivastava said.  

Sandeep Singh, apart from Walmart, has worked for over 14 years with Yahoo and AT&T among others, while Mayank Kapoor has had stints with Apple, Amazon and Alstom Power.   

The new AI head, Manjeet Dahiya, brings in over 14 years of experience from Airtel and is a PhD in Computer Science from IIT Delhi. 

The new VP of products, Dharmesh Gandhi, an IIT Kanpur alumnus, will bring 16 years of expertise into e-commerce, digital advertising, video and smartphone products into CarDekho.   

Lastly, CliffJumper founder Aditya Kumar will bring in 13 years of experience into business, data and operations strategies for CarDekho.  

CarDekho, founded in 2008, has auto portals such as CarDekho.com, Gaadi.com, ZigWheels.com, BikeDekho.com, and PowerDrift.com under its umbrella.
