Liberty General Insurance automates car inspections with AI

Mumbai headquartered private general insurance company Liberty General Insurance has rolled out an artificial intelligence (AI) based solution to automate vehicle inspections for claim assessments and vehicle insurance renewals. 

The solution, built by startup Inspektlabs, whose majority of operations are based out of Delhi, helps turn the paper and people intensive process of manual vehicle inspections into an automated solution. 

Using the new AI application, users can capture photos and videos of the car for policy renewals and claims assessment. Media files are then sent to the cloud for an automated inspection report, through which the AI engine runs multiple scans compared to a host of other photos.

The report is then generated and sent to the user in a few seconds.   "We have been working with partners for almost two years now to automate our car inspection process,” Roopam Asthana, CEO and Whole Time Director, Liberty General Insurance said. 

Asthana added that the capability will further enhance customer experience with lower turnaround on claims and renewals. 

The new offering has already been integrated with Liberty General Insurance’s workflow and is focused on automation of policy renewal approvals, and small and mid-sized motor claim estimation. 

Liberty General Insurance added that the platform will constitute specialized features for fraud detection such as detection of prior damages and hidden damages.
