UiPath appoints Anil Bhasin as MD and VP for India
Technology industry veteran Anil Bhasin is set to take charge as the managing director and vice president of UiPath India and South Asia.
Bhasin was previously the regional VP (India and SAAC) at Palo Alto Networks and will take over from Manish Bharti, a statement said.
In the new position, Bhasin will be responsible for scaling the business and technology units within the company’s India and South Asia operations, according to the New York based RPA (robotic process automation) software company.
He will be accelerating the adoption of automation as the preferred platform for catalyzing digital transformation across various industry verticals, working closely with Rick Harshman, the senior vice president and managing director of UiPath Asia Pacific and Japan.
The executive brings more than 33 years of technology industry experience to the company, UiPath said in the statement, adding that he has held leadership and senior management roles in companies such as Cisco Systems, Getronics Dubai, and Computer World.
At Palo Alto, Bhasin was instrumental in building the brand in India and helping establish its position as a cybersecurity leader. He also helped the company acquire major customers across key industry segments such as BFSI, telecom, ITS, government & defence, PSUs, manufacturing, and education.
Bharti, meanwhile, will be taking another strategic position within the company. However, the details of the role have not been revealed.
The appointment comes shortly after the software decacorn, valued at $35 billion, announced that it has filed a draft registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to make an initial public offering. The company has raised over $2 billion so far across multiple rounds.
