Dailyhunt gets Twitter Moments integration
Homegrown news aggregation platform Dailyhunt on Monday announced it has integrated Twitter Moments in its application on Android and iOS.
The collaboration with microblogging service Twitter-- biggest one for DailyHunt so far -- comes shortly after Dailyhunt parent VerSe Innovation joined the unicorn club.
Twitter Moments is a five-year-old feature of the service that curates long-form content from tweets to tell interesting stories, covering different perspectives on a particular topic, conversation, or event.
In a statement, DailyHunt, which is run by Bengaluru-based VerSe Innovation, said that the integration will give its 285 million daily active users direct access to Twitter Moments. The app now has a ‘Twitter Moments India’ tab in the menu bar and shows curated moments pertaining to India, including news and other major developments.
“It is a proud moment to welcome Twitter to the Dailyhunt platform,” Umang Bedi, the co-founder of DailyHunt, said in the statement.
Once a story from the integrated Moment tab is opened, the user could read its summary on DailyHunt itself or choose to ‘read more’ on the Twitter app. The companies also plan to work more closely over the course of this partnership to bring more ways to help users discover and consume what is happening around them in real time.
The partnership comes within a month after VerSe Innovation announced it raised $100 million from Google, Microsoft and Falcon Edge’s Alpha Wave Incubation, and returning investors Sofina Group and Lupa Systems to join the unicorn club and scale its short video app Josh.
