TCS opens new facility in Austin, plans $100 mn investment
Information technology services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday said it has expanded its business operations in Austin, Texas with the construction of a new facility.
By 2022, TCS plans to hire 130 employees in Austin, adding to the plans to hire 1,000 new employees across Texas. Over the next seven years, TCS will invest more than $100 million in Austin, according to a statement.
The facility has a capacity for 367 employees and is expected to launch by the end of December this year. The office will be a new addition to the existing 30 facilities that the company has across the US.
TCS has already hired more than 200 employees locally in Austin since 2019, of which more than 50 have been recent local graduates from the University of Texas at Austin, Houston and Dallas, and other U.S. colleges and universities. New employees are in a range of digital business transformation roles in artificial intelligence, machine learning, enterprise software and technology operations.
