Zenlayer opens Mumbai office to serve customer base in South Asia

Global software-defined network and services provider Zenlayer has announced the opening of a new office location in India.

The facility is located in Mumbai and will serve as the company’s India headquarters, contributing towards driving its expansion plans in the country as well as the whole South Asia region, an official statement said.

“The decision to expand our presence in Mumbai, India, was a logical step in our business growth strategy. In the last few years, India has experienced a huge increase in data consumption. We believe India will soon be one of the top three digital markets in the world,” Joe Zhu, the founder and CEO of Zenlayer, said.

Zenlayer said that the new office location will be providing greater space to its team, which has been expanded to support the launch of their local Content Delivery Network (CDN). Beyond that, it will also allow the company to better serve its growing number of partners and customers in the region and also rope new ones at the same time. 

Currently, businesses across domains such as telecom, media, and IT deploy Zenlayer’s global edge cloud platform to improve digital experiences for their users by providing them ultra-low latency and worldwide on-demand connectivity.

“We believe that with 5G coming to India, the definition of customer experience will change drastically. Telecoms, over-the-top platforms (OTT), and IT companies will all need smart applications and technology to enhance their customer experience. Zenlayer can offer these services to these companies with the utmost efficiency. Our objective is to ensure that the digital users of India can fully experience the new era of 5G,”Amit Singh, Zenlayer’s India MD said. 

Notably, this would be the tenth global office for the Zenlayer, following locations in Los Angeles, San Jose, Singapore, Beijing, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Nantong, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

The company has been offering on-demand edge cloud services to businesses through more than 180 PoPs around the world, including six in India.
