Acronis signs on Compuage to distribute cybersecurity solutions in India
Swiss cybersecurity firm Acronis has partnered with Mumbai-based information technology (IT) and mobility distribution company Compuage Infocom to distribute its cloud-based cyber protection solutions to enterprises and small businesses in India.
Compuage, as per a statement, is expected to improve the reach of the Acronis cyber protection technology to local businesses through its pan-India partner network, which includes companies such as Microsoft, HP and ASUS.
“Acronis solutions are a perfect fit for local businesses in India – with this partnership, we plan to deliver top-notch cloud solutions to enterprises, SMBs and small business owners via our partner network. Our aim is to make Acronis cyber cloud solutions easily available for partners with flexible billing options,” Atul H Mehta, chairman and managing director of Compuage, said.

The range of offers include Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, a cyber protection solution that integrates backup, disaster recovery, next-gen anti-malware, cybersecurity and management tools into one solution. It also offers anti-ransomware protection, backup, disaster recovery and file sync and share capabilities.
“Compuage is a recognised brand name not just in India, but across South Asia region with a strong presence established over a decade – we are excited to partner with a team that is well-equipped with technical skills in cloud backup and security,” Rustom Hiramaneck, head of South Asia for Acronis, said.
A distribution company, Compuage Infocom focuses on enterprise solutions, cloud computing, PC and components and mobility. It operates 46 offices and 69 service centers across the country, and works with over 12,000 online and offline retailers, resellers and system integrators. It has a presence in seven countries across SAARC nations.
According to the Acronis Cyber Readiness Report 2020, nearly half of remote workers did not receive clear guidance on working from home, while 31% of companies around the world reported getting attacked at least once a day. India reported nearly twice as many attacks as any other country, it said. The report, however, did not specify the sample size of the survey.

The artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of Acronis cloud products provide increased security and reliability to help enterprises block ransomware attacks, the company claimed. The solutions have also incorporated other cybersecurity capabilities such as real-time antimalware protection, on-demand antivirus scans, web filtering and videoconference protection.
Founded in Singapore in 2003 and incorporated in Switzerland in 2008, Acronis currently has more than 1,500 employees in 33 locations in 18 countries. More than 5.5 million home users and 5,00,000 companies use its solutions. Its products are available through 50,000 partners and service providers in over 150 countries in more than 40 languages.
