MG Motor India announces second phase of developer programme
Carmaker MG Motor India on Monday announced the second phase of its developer programme, inviting startups, students, inventors, enterprises and the company's internal teams to showcase their innovations for the automotive sector.
With the programme -- MG Developer Program and Grant 2.0-- the company aims to look for solutions in connected mobility, charging infrastructure, electric vehicles and batteries to navigation technologies, voice recognition, enhanced store experiences to name a few.
In line with the new normal, the company has introduced new categories such as sustainability and ease of business in the times of COVID for this year.
“As a strong pillar for the brand MG, innovation has always been encouraged by us in the auto-tech start-up space. We need solutions that can change paradigms and address the real-world needs of today,” Gaurav Gupta, chief commerce officer, MG Motors India said in a statement.
For the initiative, the company has partnered with several global technology leaders including Adobe, Cognizant, SAP, TiE-Delhi NCR, Unlimit, and MapMyIndia.
The last date for submitting applications is November 2 and mentoring will continue until December 15. TechCircle has reached out to the company regarding details of the current phase.
The programme, started in 2019, saw more than 320 entries in its first year. Of these, 60 teams were shortlisted by MG and its partners, making them eligible for personalised mentorship from 25 experts. For the grant, nine startups were selected including Driftly Electric, Innvolutions Healthcare, Voxomos, Highway Delite, Incabex, CamCom, ClearQuote, Meeseeks and Socialcore. These startups have been working with the company to improve their viability and go-to-market strategy.
