Gurugram-headquartered two-wheeler maker Okinawa Autotech makes high-speed e-scooters and bikes. Its latest product, Ridge, can travel 80-100 kilometres on a full charge.
Founded in 2015 by Jeetender Sharma and Rupali Sharma, Okinawa claims to work on an eco-friendly, sustainable and socially responsible model.
The company has its manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan and the e-bikes are designed with features such as zero noise pollution and zero-emission. Okinawa vehicles are equipped with detachable lithium batteries, which can be charged anywhere.
In a recent interview with TechCircle, Jeetender Sharma spoke about the company, e-bikes, launches and the electric vehicles (EV) market in India. Sharma manages the overall growth roadmap for the business and also oversees its operational and strategic functioning.
A veteran in the automotive sector, Sharma has worked for 18 years in Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India as operations head in various departments such as manufacturing, new model development and supplier quality assurance.
Okinawa has temporarily halted its manufacturing operations due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
