Startup Buddy acquires Boudhik Ventures to strengthen global patent services
Startup Buddy, a Gurugram-based company that provides business support services to early-stage startups, has acquired Boudhik Ventures in a cash and stock deal.
Financial details of the transaction were undisclosed.
Boudhik will be renamed 'Boudhik by Startup Buddy', and continue to run as a separate brand, according to a company statement. It will assist startups, institutions, small and medium enterprises, and indigenous companies build intellectual property portfolios, it said.
Additionally, Startup Buddy will provide intellectual property rights (IPR) services, such as trademarks, copyrights and patents, to clients of both companies, it added.
Vivek Dahiya and Saurabh Trivedi, who founded Boudhik Ventures in 2018, will join Startup Buddy as directors.
“This collaboration is going to create new opportunities for startup companies where they can get everything under one roof,” Amit Singal, co-founder of Startup Buddy, said.
Founded in 2015 by chartered accountants Singal and Manish Aggarwal, Startup Buddy provides services such as incorporation, accounting, taxation, payroll, marketing, legal and secretarial compliance to startups globally.
The company has global partnerships with incubators and accelerators, including GSF, Amplifi, India Accelerator, AIC - BIMTECH, AIC - Great Lakes Balachandran Incubator, Gastrotope, 100 Open Startups, 91springboard and FoundersClick to support the startup ecosystem. It also works with various funds to provide deal structuring, advisory, due diligence and legal services.
“Successful collaboration depends on learning to understand expertise, value proposition, interest and most importantly, the work culture of each other. We have seen this with Startup Buddy since many years and are glad to become a part of the Startup Buddy team as advisors,” Trivedi said.
