IDC appoints former Cognizant exec Vasant Rao as managing director for India

Framingham, Massachusetts based market research firm IDC (International Data Corporation) has appointed Vasant Rao as its managing director for IDC India and South Asia. 

Rao will be based out of IDC’s Bengaluru office and will report to Eva Au, MD, IDC Asia Pacific.

He has held various leadership roles during his 10-year stint at information technology consulting firm Cognizant across analytics, data science and visualisation domains. 

Most recently, Vasant was leading the company’s banking and financial services delivery for the North America artificial intelligence and analytics business unit.

Prior to Cognizant, Rao also worked with companies like business and financial research service provider Adventity Global Services, financial solutions and service company Vazirio Consulting, and Amsterdam headquartered bank ABN AMRO Bank.
