Nachiket Sukhtankar joins DXC Technology as MD of India business operations

Tysons, Virginia based information technology consulting and services company DXC Technology has appointed Nachiket Sukhtankar as managing director of its business operations in India.

Responsible for leading DXC’s India Delivery Center operations, Sukhtankar will report to recently appointed global delivery head Vinod Bagal, who is also the executive vice president of the company’s global transformation segment.

Sukhtankar has over 25 years of experience in business strategy, management and leadership at both the regional and global levels. He has worked in the technology and information technology services sector with TCS, Infosys and most recently, Accenture.

“Our business operation in India is critically important to our global customers and company, and Nachiket brings the proven experience and leadership to deliver results that contribute to DXC’s success,” Bagal said in a statement.

Sukhtankar holds a master’s degree in economics from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, as well as economics and business, from Lafayette College.

DXC has 23 offices in India and employs some 45,000 people here, roughly 40% of its estimated 1,37,000-strong global workforce.  Media reports have suggested that the company is looking to hire some 5,000 engineers in the country this year.  

The latest appointment comes shortly after the company said it will unload its healthcare technology segment to Veritas Capital, a private equity firm, for $5 billion in cash.
