Former Oracle executive Prakash Ramamurthy joins Freshworks as chief product officer
Customer engagement software firm Freshworks has appointed Prakash Ramamurthy as its chief product officer (CPO).
Ramamurthy will be responsible for overall product vision, strategy, development, Freshworks said in a statement.
He will report to Girish Mathrubootham, founder and CEO of the company.
“Prakash (Ramamurthy) has both the strategic product vision and innate ability to lead large, high-performing teams required as we accelerate our efforts to meet the needs of the mid-market and enterprise,” Mathrubootham said.
Ramamurthy has over three decades of experience in building and operating enterprise cloud services.

Prior to the current role, he served as vice president of product development, Oracle and general manager of Oracle Cloud systems management and security products. In addition to his role at Freshworks, he also works as an operating partner at Trinity Ventures, a board member at Kite.com, a machine learning software company, and a strategic advisor at States Title.

Apart from Oracle, Ramamurthy has worked in companies like Mentor Graphics, C*ATS Software, Verity, Oblix (acquired by Oracle), Gaia Interactive, jambool (acquired by Google), and PayNearMe.

Ramamurthy holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Guindy, Chennai-based College of Engineering. He also completed MS, Computer Engineering from Boston University.
Founded in 2010 by Mathrubootham, Freshworks provides customer engagement software for businesses of all sizes. The company claims to have over 2,700 employees across the world.
Last year in November, Freshworks opened its third Indian office in Hyderabad. The company has offices in Bengaluru apart from Chennai and Hyderabad. With the latest addition, it now has 12 offices globally.
