Mindtree names former Accenture executive Dayapatra Nevatia new COO

Former Accenture executive Dayapatra Nevatia will take charge as COO of Mindtree, effective immediately, eight months after Parthasarathy NS vacated the post.

Mindtree founders Parthasarathy NS, Rostow Ravanan and Krishnakumar Natarajan resigned en masse in July last year after Mumbai-based engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro acquired a controlling stake in the Bengaluru-based information technology (IT) services firm.

At Accenture, Nevatia, as managing director and director of delivery -- Advanced Technology Centers India, led the delivery of the entire portfolio spanning system integration, digital, application outsourcing, and infrastructure and security services in industry groups.  

Prior to Accenture, the IISc Bengaluru alumnus worked for close to 22 years at Wipro, where he led teams focused on energy, natural resources, construction and utilities.

His vast industry experience along with proven track record will be a definite asset to Mindtree as we continue to stride on the journey of customer-centric growth,” Mindtree CEO and managing director Debashis Chatterjee said in a statement.

Chatterjee himself got on board at Mindtree in August last year, replacing Ravanan. He was previously president for global delivery and digital systems and technology at IT services firm Cognizant.

Mindtree recently reported a modest 3% growth in net profits for the third quarter of the financial year 2020-21. The company also clocked a 10% growth in revenues during the quarter.

The earnings were above market expectations as the third quarter is usually a slow quarter for the Indian IT industry due to the holiday season in the largest markets of North America and Europe.
