In Brief: NITI Aayog, Nasscom partner to launch AI modules for schools; Airtel Payments Bank launches new service
Government think tank Niti Aayog’s flagship programme Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has collaborated with software industry lobby Nasscom (National Association of Software and Services Companies), to launch an AI (artificial intelligence)-based module for students in Indian schools. The module aims to help students to leverage ATL (Atal Tinkering Lab) and further boost them to innovate and create valuable solutions, a press statement said. It will contain activities, videos, and experiments that will help students work through and learn various concepts of AI. AIM is establishing ATLs in all districts across India, at the school level. AIM has so far selected a total of 14,916 schools across 33 different states and union territories in India to set up ATLs.

Airtel Payments Bank launches Aadhaar enabled Payment System
Airtel Payments Bank has rolled out the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) at over 250,000 of its banking points across India. With the new system, customers of any bank with Aadhaar-linked bank accounts can undertake financial transactions at the designated banking points of Airtel Payments Bank, a press statement said. The new system will enable Airtel Payments Bank to offer a wide range of banking services to its account holders and customers of other banks, the statement added.

Garage Society India strengthens leadership team with two appointments
Hong Kong-headquartered co-working space provider Garage Society has appointed Nishant Goyal as its director of operations and Surabhi Verma as director of commerce in India. In her new role, Verma will be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships, handling sales and initiating new value-add services for members. Verma is an Indian School of Business (ISB) graduate. Goyal has over 12 years of experience in managing business operations. He will look after the management operations including accounts, business operations, facility management, IT (information technology), procurement, project management and overall human resources at Garage Society. Previously, he worked with Electrotherm India Limited.
redBus launches car, bike pooling service in Delhi
Online bus ticketing platform redBus has launched rPool, a car and bike pooling service, on its platform in Delhi. The new service will enable users in Delhi to avail as well as offer rides in their personal car and bikes, the press statement said. Last year in October, redBus had introduced bikes on rPool, its ride-pooling platform. The service was introduced in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.
