Cognizant to acquire El-Technologies to focus on Europe market
Cognizant, the Teaneck, New Jersey-based IT (information technology) services firm, has begun 2020 on an acquisitive note. Days after buying Code Zero to boost its cloud solutions, the company is now in talks to acquire El-Technologies to strengthen its Salesforce practice.
The acquisition is expected to help Cognizant expand its presence in Europe. Digital consulting firm EI-Technologies is a Salesforce Platinum Partner and its EI-Institut is among the largest Salesforce authorised training delivery partner centres in Europe.
San Francisco-based cloud customer relationship management firm Salesforce certifies consulting partners as silver, gold or platinum, depending on the standard of service offered.
Levallois-Perret, France headquartered El-Technologies currently houses approximately 345 employees. Cognizant will likely add them to its workforce.
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals. The financial terms of the proposed transaction have not been disclosed.
“We’re determined to help our clients become fully digital, data-enabled, customer-centric businesses. Cloud has changed the way IT is delivered across infrastructure, applications and platforms, and is one of our strategic focus areas,” Brian Humphries, Cognizant CEO said.
EI-Technologies’ clients include leading companies listed on the French stock market’s CAC 40 index in the manufacturing, energy and utilities, financial services and luxury industries.
In addition to Salesforce expertise, the company also specialises in Microsoft collaboration platform solutions and CIO advisory services.
“Joining Cognizant would enable us to address a wider range of client needs ― including automation, artificial intelligence, customer experience design and more ― that are emerging in the digital economy, and to pursue projects on a larger scale.” Béchara Raad, founder and CEO of EI-Technologies said.
If confirmed, this will be the 12th acquisition by Cognizant in the last two years.
On Monday, the company announced the acquisition of Code Zero, a provider of consulting and implementation services for cloud-based CPQ (configure-price-quote) and billing solutions.
