Sasken, Qualcomm partner to provide engineering solutions for automakers

Bengaluru-headquartered product engineering and digital transformation solutions provider Sasken Technologies has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm, to bring engineering and customisation support for automotive Tier-1 customers.

The partnership is expected to help Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit and Automotive Wireless Solutions’ new customers to accelerate deployment timeframes. 

 “We have a long and trusted relationship with Sasken and we are confident that their strong experience with our products and technologies will allow them to bring effective and comprehensive support to both new customers and new applications for our Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit and Qualcomm Automotive Wireless Solutions,” Nakul Duggal, senior vice president, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc said.

Qualcomm was in the news recently after it announced its car-to-cloud service, which helps automakers connect cars to their cloud service. The new service, the company said, integrates its automotive solutions with 4G and 5G support.  

Sasken is expanding its presence in the ML (machine learning) and IoT (internet of things) market. The company recently joined Taiwanese semiconductor giant MediaTek’s IoT (Internet of Things) programme. It is also focussing on v2X (vehicle-to-infrastructure) and claims to serve some 100 customers in the autonomous and connected car segment.
