Freshworks expands India presence with new office in Hyderabad
Global customer engagement software firm Freshworks has opened its third Indian office in Hyderabad.
The announcement comes days after Chennai-born Freshworks raised $150 million in a series H funding round led by Sequoia Capital, Accel and CapitalG earlier this month.
The 15,000-sq-ft office is a product development centre. The San Mateo, California-headquartered company plans to scale operations and hire over a hundred engineers.
Homegrown Freshwork’s co-founder Kiran Darisi will be moving to the new office space. Anil Kommineni has been appointed as the site head, having led and scaled engineering teams at Amazon, Microsoft and Teradata, a statement from the company said.
The SaaS unicorn has offices in Bengaluru apart from Chennai and Hyderabad. With the latest addition, it now has 12 offices, employing over 2,500 of its workers globally.
Freshworks is currently undergoing a rapid growth phase with oncoming demand of its suite of customer engagement products, according to its Chief Human Resources Officer Suman Gopalan.
The Series H growth round was its largest funding round since inception. The round valued Freshworks at $3.5 billion, post-money, and is expected to close by the end of the year, pending regulatory approvals.
