Online food delivery platform Swiggy is planning to invest Rs 75 crore in the next six months to expand its cloud kitchen, according to a report by The Economic Times.
This takes the total investment made by the Naspers-backed company into its cloud kitchen business, Swiggy Access, to around Rs 250 crore.
The company will expand across 14-15 additional smaller towns and cities including Guwahati, Tirupur, and Surat, the report said.
Swiggy claims to have created 8,000 jobs through Swiggy Access and looks to add 7,000 more in the next 6 months.
Zomato runs 650 kitchens across more than 50 cities, the report added.
Paytm founder warns customers against spam calls, messages
Digital payment company Paytm’s founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma has requested customers to not fall for scam messages and emails, The Economic Times reports.
Over the past few months, hundreds of Paytm customers have registered complaints with the company’s cyber cell and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) ombudsman over fraud claims after getting duped, the report said. Sharma took to Twitter to urge people to stay safe.
No proposal to link social media accounts of individuals: Ravi Shankar Prasad
The minister of law and justice Ravi Shankar Prasad told the parliament that there has been no proposal for linking Aadhaar with social media accounts of individuals to Aadhar, The Economic Times reports.
Prasad also said that Aadhaar is based on three core principles which include minimal information, optimal ignorance and federated database, the report said.
Aadhaar database contains the name, address, gender, date of birth/age, photograph and core biometrics (10 fingerprints and 2 iris scans) of the enrolled residents.
Flipkart, FICCI join hands to conduct workshops for MSMEs across India
Walmart-owned e-commerce platform Flipkart has joined hands with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) to launch a workshop series across India for MSMEs to help them leverage e-commerce to grow their business.
Flipkart and FICCI will host a series of workshops on the theme, Winning big with e-commerce, starting from Ahmedabad on November 21, 2019, Flipkart and FICCI said in a joint statement.
Flipkart said that it aims to host over 10 such events, to begin with, across cities such as Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Nagpur and more.
