Watch: Rohit Kapoor on driving OYO’s co-living biz and plans ahead
SoftBank backed hospitality chain OYO signed on Rohit Kapoor as chief executive officer of its new real estate businesses about a year ago.
Kapoor took charge of the Gurugram-headquartered firm’s exploration in new categories and strategic initiatives in the real estate sector.
OYO Life, the fully managed housing rental division of this real estate business, shared its one-year milestone footprint figures at a press conference last week.
Targeted at millennials and young professionals across the country, OYO LIFE currently offers over 40,000 beds in over 700 buildings across nine cities - Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.
“We get about 1.6 million unique visitors every month on our website. Now, that’s a lot of people looking for housing,” Kapoor said, commenting about the scope of consumer demand across the co-living sector in the country.
Kapoor joined OYO from hospital chain Max Healthcare, where he was an executive director and a board member.
In an interview with TechCircle on the sidelines of event, Kapoor spoke about the complexities of the co-living business, synergies within the group and more.
