PayU India launches app for merchants

Naspers-owned payment solutions provider PayU India has launched a multi-functional mobile app for merchants.

Merchants can use the app to monitor their business performance and request for payments, the company said in a statement.

The app also comes with PayU Assist for instant query resolution and support. Last month, it had rolled out a merchant service platform PayU Assist to offer automated customer service capabilities.

“With this app, our goal is to empower MSMEs with a mobile channel equipped with complete account access and business management capabilities. The app will also provide instant query resolution to offer a seamless merchant experience. It is an exciting time for us since the PayU app is one of the most innovative apps in this space. It strengthens our value proposition, giving us an edge above other industry players,” said Noopur Chaturvedi, country head for small and medium businesses, PayU.

PayU was also in talks to acquire online consumer lending platform PaySense, The Economic Times reported.
