Tech-enabled laundromat chain UClean acquires White Tiger
Faridabad-based tech-enabled laundromat chain UClean has acquired Delhi NCR-based peer White Tiger.
The acquisition involved the purchase of White Tiger’s 20 outlets in Delhi NCR region, UConcepts Solutions, which operates UClean, said in a statement. The terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed.
As part of the transaction, the entire staff, franchisee partners and existing infrastructure of White Tiger will be onboarded as part of UClean.
“In a growing market like India, tech-enabled laundry solutions hold immense potential, given the low penetration of technology in an unorganised segment,” said Arunabh Sinha, founder and CEO, UClean.
Founded in 2017 by IIT Bombay alumnus Sinha, UClean claims to operate 130 stores across 35 cities in India with a customer base of over half a million who avail its services every year.
UClean offers home pick up & drop as well as a do-it-yourself model where customers can get their laundry needs self-addressed by visiting the nearest UClean laundromat.
In April last year, UClean topped up its pre-Series A funding with an additional $615,600 from US-based existing angel investor Anubhav Chopra.
In February 2018, it had raised $1 million from franchise and retail services provider Franchise India Holdings.
Prior to UClean, Sinha had also worked at Treebo, Technoserve and CredR.
