Treebo launches technology platform for small, medium-size hotels
Bengaluru-based Ruptub Solutions, which operates budget hotels aggregator Treebo, has launched Hotel Superhero, a platform for small and medium-sized hotel owners.
The new platform will offer hotel owners access to technology, quality control, staff training support, access to pre-screened vendors, credit facility, and additional sales through Treebo’s online and offline distribution channels, the company said in a statement
Treebo claims it has on-boarded over 100 properties across Mumbai, Kochi, NCR, Mysore and Bangalore as part of the Hotel Superhero model.
“Superhero is designed to serve SMEs in the hospitality sector. Technology solutions are necessary but not sufficient for such clients. In order to serve their needs effectively, you need an offering that goes beyond software as a service (SaaS). It has to be a combination of SaaS, BPO and advisory, which is exactly what Superhero is,” Sidharth Gupta, co-founder, Treebo, said.
Hotel owners can pick and choose parts of Treebo’s capabilities they want to work with, Gupta added.
Treebo was founded in 2015 by Gupta, Kadam Jeet Jain and Rahul Chaudhary. The budget hotel chain manages over 10,000 rooms across more than 95 cities.
Treebo competes with Oyo, MakeMyTrip, ClearTrip, Yatra and FabHotels in the segment.
In July, Treebo had raised $16.7 million in its Series B funding round, led by Bertelsmann India Investments, the strategic investment vehicle of International media company Bertelsmann.
In May, according to a report by financial daily, it was in talks to raise up to $40 million (Rs 281 crore then) from French hospitality chain Accor SA in a fresh round of funding.
