Infosys unit EdgeVerge to automate Al-Ahli Bank's operations
Infosys-owned cloud-based software solutions platform EdgeVerve Systems has partnered with Al-Ahli Bank to automate the Kuwait-based retail bank’s processes.
The bank will be using the recently-launched AssistEdge robotic process automation (RPA), according to an official statement issued by EdgeVerve.
The automation platform is a scalable end-to-end solution and can help with customer service, business processes and productivity, the statement added.
The RPA programme helps robots execute high-touch, repetitive processes. The programme is also capable of integrating with Google and Microsoft’s APIs (application programming interfaces), thereby ensuring seamless compatibility to legacy systems.
“ABK has collaborated with EdgeVerve and successfully implemented RPA in key areas of operations and Information security. The automation journey will enable us to migrate repetitive tasks to the digital workforce and reskill our staff to deliver more value added activities,” Somnath Menon, group chief operating officer, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait, said.
EdgeVerve’s robotic process automation was launched earlier this month. The solution is aimed at providing enterprises with intelligent automation services.
Last month, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Infosys announced it is launching a service powered by its RPA platform. The offering will serve as an automation platform for contact centres and will be called the AssistEdge Engage.
The banking sector is seeing increased adoption of the robotic process automation solution. A study by Gartner found that RPA is appealing to organisations and is gaining traction due to quicker deployment cycles vis-a-vis traditional business process management platforms.
In 2016, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait had selected another Infosys product Finacle and deployed it across operations like customer relationship management, trade finance, liquidity management and electronic banking.
