Snapdeal strengthens legal team with new hires
Online ecommerce marketplace Snapdeal has hired three senior legal executives from Johnson & Johnson and Flipkart to strengthen its team. With the current hires the company’s legal team now has 10 members.
The SoftBank backed company has hired Prankur Chaturvedi, legal counsel at Johnson & Johnson to head contract and compliance department. He has also served as senior legal counsel and group secretary at OYO. The Economic Times was the first to report the developments.
Snapdeal has also hired former senior legal counsel at Flipkart, Vijay Srivastava as associate director to head litigations and disputes.
It has also added Mansi Airi, former senior associate of law at PSA Legal Counsellors as senior legal manager to build expertise in cross border and domestic mergers and acquisitions and technology transfers.
The announcement comes a day after the company raised an undisclosed amount in funding from executive director of Piramal Group, Anand Piramal The company was also in talks to acquire rival e-commerce platform Shopclues for an all-stock deal though the talks have reached an impasse of late.
The company also reported a 73% growth in consolidated revenues for the financial year 2018-19 at Rs 925.3 crore as compared to Rs 535.9 crore in the previous year. The company had also said that it had achieved cash break even in June 2018.
