Shipskart Marine, Loktra win Dubai Startup Hub Roadshow contest
New Delhi-based e-commerce platform Shipskart Marine Pvt. Ltd and Bengaluru-headquartered banking-as-a-service firm Loktra Technologies Pvt. Ltd are set to work in Dubai after ranking first and second, respectively, in a competition held as part of the first Dubai Startup Hub Roadshow to India.
Over 200 startups from India participated in the competition and 10 shortlisted candidates were given an opportunity to pitch their businesses to a panel during the roadshow.
The Dubai Startup Hub Roadshow to India was supported by Startup India and Nasscom 10000 Startups, besides Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus, STEP Group and Startup Bootcamp. The roadshow included visits to New Delhi and Bengaluru, roundtable and panel discussions, and success stories from Indian startups.
“The roadshow and competition attracted strong interest and participation from startups in India and paved the way for new partnerships that foster innovation, create mutual benefits and drive economic growth,” said Omar Khan, director of International Offices at Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The roadshow was organised by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dubai Startup Hub initiative and Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched Dubai Startup Hub in 2016 as an online platform to connect startups, entrepreneurs, developers, venture capitalists and students, enabling them to learn about new opportunities and create new partnerships that stimulate economic growth.
In June, fintech startup Loktra emerged as the winner of the Startup Challenge organised by data solutions provider Nippon Telegraph Communications-Netmagic Solutions. Loktra took home a cash prize of $15,000.
