Dassault Simulia’s Jean-Paul Roux on solving social problems with 3D simulation
Jean-Paul Roux, vice president (Sales EMEAR and India) for Dassault Systemes Simulia Corp, believes that the 3D simulation revolution is yet to take off. Globally, 3D simulation has traditionally led to significant cost savings in the manufacturing and automotive industries. But Roux believes that the technology could help solve a number of broader, socially relevant problems such as building better smart cities and planning mass transportation infrastructure, among others.
In an interview with TechCircle, Roux spoke about some of the key challenges in taking the technology forward and why striking a balance between newer innovations and investing in taking classical 3D technologies to more markets is imperative.
Dassault Simulia is the 3D simulation arm of Dassault Systemes SE, the French industrial design software firm.
