Microsoft to offer AI translation services for Naukri’s Gulf platform
Microsoft has partnered online job portal Naukri to deploy its artificial intelligence (AI) solution for real-time translation between Arabic and English for Naukrigulf.com, the companies said in a statement.
Microsoft said that the AI solution will make the platform more user-friendly for job seekers with the company's data-powered language translation. The AI translator has made the website multilingual for global users, helping employers and job seekers alike, it added.
With most of the users being fluent either in Arabic or English, the content on the portal needed to be available in the job seeker’s and employer's preferred language, Microsoft said, adding that the deployment has eliminated the language barrier.
“We regularly evaluate the needs of our customers and work towards building solutions that optimise job search and recruitment processes. With Microsoft Translator Text API (application programme interface), the language gaps have been filled and the portal has a more tangible approach now," said Sharad Sindhwani, senior vice-president and product head for Naukrigulf.com.
According to Microsoft, this has given companies access to a larger pool of talent that was earlier not visible to them. Sindhwani added that the technology has cut down almost half of the cost and that the accuracy of the automated translation was satisfactory.
"We are working with businesses to optimise their processes and enhance their customer experience. The solution will empower the end-users by enabling them to seamlessly connect, browse and exchange data," said Rajesh Rege, country general manager and India lead for clouds, solutions and customer success at Microsoft India.
Naukri, real estate portal 99acres.com and other platforms are owned by BSE-listed Info Edge (India) Ltd.
