TCS upgrades automation tool TransformPlus with cognitive features
Mumbai-based information technology (IT) services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday said that it is updating its MasterCraft TransformPlus to version 4.0 by adding new cognitive features for analysis and modernisation of legacy applications.
"TransformPlus' core power lies in its intelligent automation and cognitive capability, built from TCS' wide experience in executing large and complex transformation engagements,” said Vijayalakshmi Gopal, business head, TCS MasterCraft. “With the new version of TransformPlus, we have further enhanced the product's ability to accelerate our customers' Business 4.0 transformations through intelligent automation capabilities," Gopal added.
The company said that the new upgrade supports a wide range of programming languages in the market. Some of TransformPlus' abilities include code analysis, business rules extraction and documentation, requirements modelling, specification-driven generation of code, microservices and configuration scripts, application cloud migration and enterprise data migration.
TransformPlus has analysed more than a billion lines of legacy code so far, extracted business rules, and documented them for business reference and decision-making, Gopal said.
TCS MasterCraft is a suite of intelligent automation products that optimises IT service delivery. The suite has three products, namely, DevPlus for continuous delivery lifecycle management, TransformPlus for application analysis, modernisation and development and DataPlus for enterprise data privacy and quality.
This suite of products, according to the company, is being used by over 200 customers in more than 780 projects.
In a separate announcement, the company said that it has collaborated with the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) to launch a new, secure cloud-based unemployment insurance (Ul) tax system, completing a system-wide upgrade for the Wyoming Unemployment Insurance (WYUI) solution.
It further said that the WYUI tax and benefits solution is a fully modernised and scalable unemployment insurance platform that improves the way employers interact with the US state.
The modernisation entailed designing a more user-friendly interface and expanding self-service capabilities including online employer registration, account maintenance, payments, wage reporting, and appeals, the company said.
TCS had implemented the WYUI benefits solution in 2018, which enabled claimants to file new and weekly claims online, protest and file appeals online, receive electronic correspondence, perform online eligibility reviews, make online payments against overpayments, and more.
Now, with the tax system launch, employers will have the ability to file reports, authorise payments, file appeals, and make account changes online.
The new solution enables employers to perform many online, self-service tax-filing functions, including the ability to file quarterly contribution and wage reports, upload wage detail, and view annual tax rates.
