SaaS provider SAP Concur ropes in Mankiran Chowhan as India MD
Washington-based, travel and expense management solutions provider SAP Concur has roped in Mankiran Chowhan as the managing director for its India operations.
Chowhan will report to Andy Watson, senior vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific Japan and Greater China, SAP Concur said in a statement.
“The growth potential of India’s business travel market is enormous. We plan to leverage this opportunity by addressing local market needs and helping companies better manage to spend across all categories and sources,” said Watson.
Chowhan previously served as the managing vice president and country manager of sales for Gartner India, where she led the business and operations in India.
She also held key positions in sales management over the course of 15 years at the company. Prior to Gartner, she was employed at mid-tier IT services firm Zensar Technologies.
“India is an important market for SAP Concur as organizations are undergoing technological shifts and digital transformations, spurred by the Digital India mission,” Chowhan said.
Chowhan holds a master’s degree in business administration from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.
India is becoming a major product hub for group company SAP, according to an earlier interview with SAP's executive board member and head of product and innovation Bernd Leukert.
"India is committed to digitisation starting with the government's digital agenda and we are committed to supporting the massive opportunity in terms of investments. Outside of our headquarters in Germany, the Indian R&D division is the biggest facility," Leukert said.
