TCS ties up with JDA Software to develop cognitive supply-chain solutions
Homegrown IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with US-based software company JDA Software to jointly develop cognitive solutions for supply chains and provide consulting and system integration services for customers globally.
Cognitive technologies are products of artificial intelligence.
TCS said in a statement that the solutions will use its Machine-First Delivery Model to accelerate human-machine collaboration to solve complex business problems while delivering multi-fold productivity improvements and transforming customer experience.
The Machine-First model is based on the principle of converting data inputs from multiple sources into a single thread for the machine to understand and solve.
TCS further said that it will set up an end-to-end cognitive supply chain lab at its business solutions lab in Cincinnati, Ohio to develop quick proofs-of-concept.
Raman Venkatraman, vice president and global head of TCS’ alliance and technology unit, said that through these solutions enterprises would be able to harness the power of cloud and artificial intelligence, thereby allowing them to gain a complete view of the supply chain along with business intelligence.
The development comes a month after TCS launched a new version of its cloud-based Agile DevOps product to support large-scale planning and delivery of applications.
Agile software development is a cross-functional and collaborative approach towards completing a project. DevOps is a software development methodology that combines software development with information technology operations.
