Reliance’s IoT unit Unlimit ties up with BSNL for wireless network
Unlimit, the Internet of Things unit of Anil Ambani-led Reliance ADA Group, is partnering with state telecom service provider BSNL for its wireless network in order to expand its solutions pan India for enterprises, a company statement said.
Unlimit’s solutions and services include managed connectivity, an application platform and device management, and advanced analytics for customers across industries.
BSNL’s connectivity, especially in rural India, will help Unlimit further penetrate the enterprise market in the country. It will focus on industries such as automobile, digital manufacturing, transportation, logistics, public-sector enterprises and agriculture, Jüergen Hase, Unlimit’s chief executive said, adding that the partnership will focus on providing end-to-end IoT solutions.
He further added that Unlimit’s solutions bundled with BSNL were readily available for deployment.
There are other companies in the country who also provide either end-to-end IoT solutions or those specific to the industry.
In an interview with TechCircle in June this year, Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar, the India president of US-based Aeris Communications, said that the company was filling the IoT solutions gap in the country by providing connectivity management platform, cloud-based enablement services and analytics to enterprises.
Aeris India also has partnerships with telcos such as Aircel and BSNL for connectivity. The company offers solutions to the auto, government and retail sectors.
The government of India has announced plans to create a $15-billion IoT market over the next five years, which it says will account for 5-6% of the global IoT market.
