Check out the six Indian startups picked for Israel’s MassChallenge accelerator

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) said on Thursday six startups that it incubated have been selected for the 2018 batch of Israel’s MassChallenge accelerator.

The six startups are from the cybersecurity, aerospace, enterprise software, Internet of Things, healthcare and agriculture sectors, the Indian IT industry group said in a statement.

The startups are Intello Labs Pvt. Ltd, Olivewear Pvt. Ltd, OCEO Water, S&I Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Streamingo Solutions Pvt. Ltd and Ziroh Labs.

These startups will now participate in MassChallenge’s four-month accelerator programme, where they will receive mentoring from industry experts, free co-working space and other facilities.

More than 520 startups from 32 countries applied to join MassChallenge Israel’s 2018 class. Startups were evaluated on their ability to demonstrate potential for ideas ranging from scientific breakthroughs to industry disruption by a panel that included more than 170 of the world's top executives, entrepreneurs and investors.

“India is now on its next growth curve, led by disruptive technologies like data sciences and artificial intelligence (AI),” said Atul Batra, chairman of Nasscom’s product council. “Nasscom’s startup programme reflects this vision to consolidate and streamline efforts in building state-of-the-art infrastructure to amplify the impact that India’s emerging disruptive companies can indigenously create for the entire global ecosystem.”

Below is a quick look at the winners of the programme:

Intello Labs
Bengaluru-based Intello Labs is an agri-tech company specialising in image-based analysis and AI. It was founded in 2016 by chief executive Milan Sharma, Ramakrishnan M, and Devendra Chandani. Its ongoing use cases include quality grading of commodities, pest/disease-detection in crops, and yield estimation.

It says it uses advanced analytics tools and techniques – Deep Learning, AI, computer vision, internet of things (IoT) and Big Data -- in developing solutions for clients.

OCEO Water
Bengaluru-based OCEO Water was founded in 2016 by Vikram Gulecha, Mahendra Dantewadiya, Hasmukh Gulecha, and Rajeev Krishna. The company offers an IoT-enabled water purifier. 

S&I Engineering Solutions 
Bengaluru-based S&I Engineering Solutions was founded in 2006. It provides services related to Computational Fluid Dynamics. 

Streamingo Solutions
Founded in January 2015 by chief executive Vinay TS and managing director Vidhya Vinay, Streamingo Solutions is an AI-based video-analysis startup. The Bengaluru-based company uses a combination of advanced technologies such as speech recognition, image processing, neuro-linguistic programming, machine learning, and neural networks on its AI platform.

Ziroh Labs
Founded in September 2016 by legal chief Surabhi Das and tech chief Hrishikesh Dewan, Ziroh Labs is a Bengaluru-based cloud security startup that provides data security to businesses by using homomorphic encryption. Its product provides a layer of security on existing cloud storage providers like Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

Olivewear 

Founded in February 2017 by chief executive Sundar Jagannathan, Senthil Kumar, and Divya Krishnan, Olivewear is a healthcare startup that runs programmes such as SaveMom, an initiative to provide better maternal care and healthcare ecosystem in urban and rural areas. The programme has created two versions of solutions powered by wearable and connected medical devices as well as cloud.
