India's largest e-commerce marketplace Flipkart has suffered another bout of senior-level exits at its engineering team, a national daily reported on Friday.

Citing unnamed people aware of the development, The Times of India reported that Ashish Gupta, vice president, engineering, and Ashish Vikram, vice president, engineering (ad and big data) are leaving the firm.

Gupta, who joined Flipkart in 2012, was heading its Demand Shaping Platform group. He has worked with Firetide Networks and Mobera Systems in the past. Vikram, who joined the company in 2014, had earlier worked with Yahoo and Kalido. He has moved on to pursue an entrepreneurial venture, a video-based social learning platform called VideoKen.

An email sent to a Flipkart spokesperson seeking confirmation on the development did not elicit an immediate response.

The fresh exits come a little over a fortnight after two senior vice presidents of engineering—Hari Vasudev and Ashish Agrawal—resigned from the e-commerce firm. In the first week of January, Techcircle reported on a number of senior-level exits from Flipkart, both at its flagship marketplace and its subsidiary online fashion retailer Myntra.

The list includes Myntra's supply chain head and senior vice president Rajul Jain, who was one of the co-founders of lifestyle e-tailer Yebhi.com; Sharad Agarwal, vice president and distinguished engineer at Flipkart who was heading data strategy; and Raghuram Talluri, vice president and head of customer experience at Myntra. All of them left the company in December.

India's consumer Internet businesses, which quickly became multi-billion-dollar companies, are facing growth pangs and witnessing many top-level exits. Other home-grown e-commerce unicorns, such as Snapdeal and Ola, are also struggling to retain senior talent.

Snapdeal lost three of its top executives this week: Tony Navin, head of partnerships and strategic initiatives; Abhishek Kumar, head of corporate development; and Sandeep Komaravelly, senior vice president.

In November last year, Vijay Ghadge, chief operating officer at Snapdeal's in-house logistics arm Vulcan Express Pvt Ltd, had quit barely four months after joining the firm.

In the cab-hailing space, Ola's chief financial officer Rajiv Bansal and chief marketing officer Raghuvesh Sarup quit the company this week. Sundeep Sahni, a high-profile hire who headed its new initiatives, and head of luxury cab service Ola Lux Abhimanyu Rawal, quit in December.

Flipkart, the most valued Internet business in the country, has seen a series of exits in 2016. Besides CXO-level exits—Flipkart saw its chief product officer, chief financial officer, chief technology officer and chief business officer quit last year—the company has seen a strong churn in the second layer of leadership as well. There has also been a slew of exits at the senior vice president and vice president level.
