Mogae Media acquires video platform Ao1
Digital marketing firm Mogae Media Pvt. Ltd has acquired personalised video platform Ao1 from ad-veteran Ashish Dabral, a former chief executive of Dentsu Marcom, in a share-swap deal.
As a part of the acquisition, Mogae Media will have full ownership of the video platform and will provide funds for its development. Dabral will join the digital media company as executive director, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The Ao1 platform provides clients with real-time personalised videos that can be served to the right customer via email or text message. The firm offers its services to companies in banking, insurance, telecom, retail, airlines, hotels, and e-commerce.
"Today only 10% of 3G customers of all the leading telcos have upgraded to 4G. The telco already knows the customer, knows his consumption pattern and can easily use good personalised communication to persuade the customer to switch to a higher level 4G offering. With Ao1 you can address the communication to the customer by name, can graphically depict usage pattern, can interestingly show available options and product plusses, and personalise a special offer just for that user," Dabral said in a statement.
The platform is set to go commercially live this month.
Mogae Media was launched in 2012 by Sandeep Goyal, former chairman of Japanese advertising major Dentsu in India, and his wife Tanya Goyal.
In May, Goyal announced that he plans to invest Rs 100 crore (around $15 million) in digital media and mobile innovation startups in India.
Last year, Goyal had formed a joint venture (JV) with German startup Zeotap to create a programmatic advertising platform for targeted advertising on smartphones in India.
