Mobile app launched to monitor voter lists in Uttar Pradesh polls
Voters in next year's Uttar Pradesh assembly polls can now check whether their names have been registered in the electoral rolls online. The Election Commission of India has released a mobile app to track any additions or deletions made to the voter lists, the Press Trust of India reported.
Currently, voters' lists in the state are undergoing revision. The app, developed by the UP state unit of the National Informatics Centre, has been launched to ensure that electoral rolls are closely monitored for accuracy.
Additional Chief Electoral officer Anil Garg told PTI that the voters' status of application for adding or deleting their names will be made available booth-wise on the app. An online grievance redressal information system will also be launched soon.
