Fin-tech startup ePaylater appoints former ING Vysya exec as advisor
Fin-tech startup ePaylater.in has appointed former ING Vysya Bank executive Ravichander Varadarajan as its advisor, a top company official told Techcircle.
The Mumbai-based Arthashastra Fintech Pvt. Ltd, which runs ePaylater, has also hired former Microsoft US programme manager Atishay Kumar as product head.
Prior to joining ePaylater, Varadarajan was working with India Factoring and Finance Solutions as managing director and CEO. A management graduate from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, he has about 25 years of work experience, having worked in leading banking and non-banking institutions in the country such as HSBC, Standard Chartered, BNP Paribas and ING Vysya Bank.
Kumar has done his masters in computer science from University of Florida.
"Kumar will join us as product head. Having worked at Microsoft and Sun Microsystems for over 10 years across key positions, he brings invaluable hands-on experience in building world-class products from scratch and subsequently evolving them towards delivering unmatched customer delight," said Prasannaa Muralidharan, co-founder, ePaylater.
ePaylater was founded in December 2015 by Aurko Bhattacharya, Prasannaa Muralidharan, Uday Somayajula, Shanmuhanathan Thiagaraja and Akshat Saxena. The company gives customers the option to 'buy now and pay later' on online portals with just one click.
The customers get 14 days to make the payment and within that period they can make many more transactions via single-click checkouts and can bunch them all together to make a single payment at the end of the period.
Last month it had secured $2 million (Rs 13.3 crore) in a seed round of funding from three high net-worth individuals.
