Mobile payments startup JunoTele names former PayU exec as CBO
Mobile payments platform JunoTele has appointed former PayU Money executive Vikrant Khorana as chief business officer.
Khorana will be responsible for sketching a strategic roadmap for JunoTele, generating fresh revenue streams and expanding to new territories, according to a statement.
Khorana previously worked as senior vice president and business head for non-commerce business at PayU where he had been overseeing product and technology solutions. Khorana has also worked with WeChat, Ibibo, Indiatimes and Wipro.
"I will be setting up the financial technology vertical for JunoTele and develop innovative products using the firm's patented solutions," said Khorana.
Bangalore- and Singapore-based JunoTele Solutions Pvt. Ltd was founded in 2011 by Sekhar Rao (CEO), an alumnus of IIM Bangalore. Rao, who has over two decades of experience in telecom and IT sectors, also holds a B Tech from Osmania University.
Prior to starting JunoTele, he was COO and a member of the global management team at MACH India.
Firms in the mobile payments space in India include Paytm, MobiKwik, Citrus and PayUMoney.
Last month, FTCash, a mobile payments platform for micro merchants in the country, raised $150,000 (around Rs 1 crore) in pre-Series A funding led by IvyCap Ventures.
