Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who invested  in Internet of Things startup Smartron last week, said on Thursday the investment is the beginning of his life's second innings after retiring as a cricketer.

"The first one was on the field playing cricket. The second innings of my life is getting into partnerships with entrepreneurs," he said while launching the first two devices of the Bangalore-based company.

The company launched a convertible Ultrabook called t.book and the t.phone smartphone. The 12.2-inch Ultrabook comes with Windows 10 and Intel M processor and carries a price tag of Rs 39,999. The Ultrabook will go on sale on April 8 while booking for the 5.5-inch handset will start on April 18.

Tendulkar said the second innings means "much more to me" because the products are designed and engineered in India. "An Indian company looking to go global is a matter of pride for all of us Indians," he said.

The master blaster, who retired from cricket in November 2013, also talked about how technology is changing the world and said that he invested in the company because he was impressed with the company's vision.
