Digital marketing firm Shoogloo names Bhupinder Tomar as Group CEO
Digital marketing firm Shoogloo Online Marketing Pvt Ltd has appointed Bhupinder Tomar as its group CEO.
Tomar will be responsible for driving the company's operations.
Founded in 2007, Shoogloo was originally launched in Gurgaon. The company's base was later shifted to Singapore. At present, Shoogloo has offices in Singapore, UK and India with two main offices in India - one in Gurgaon and a backend office in Dehradun.
With a focus on customer engagement products, mobile and affiliate marketing for MEA, Shoogloo has three distinct business divisions -- Shoogloo Digital, Shoogloo Mobile and Shoogloo Media.
In December 2015, John Porter, chairman of Sinocare Group, which runs several hospitals in China, acquired 50 per cent stake in Shoogloo Group. With this, Shoogloo became a 50:50 venture between i-Spire Ltd and Sirmouri Partners Pvt Ltd, the holding companies of John Porter and LD Sharma, respectively.
i-Spire Ltd was founded by John Porter in 2000 as an internet operating company focusing on internet, media and technology investments. Sirmouri Partners is a holding company of LD Sharma and Bhupinder Tomar for managing their various business interests around the world, as per Shoogloo's website. John Porter is the group chairman of Shoogloo.
Tomar's most recent stint was with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as their chief operating officer for Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. He has over 15 years of experience in managing multi-country operations in three continents of Asia, Africa and Europe.
He has a Bachelor's Degree in Arts from Osmania University, after which he completed his Master's degree in Labour Law and Labour Welfare from the University of Pune. He acquired an MBA degree from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, and finally concluded his formal education with an MSc in Development Studies from The London School of Economics and Political Science where he was a Chevening Scholar in social sciences.
