RedDoorz secures pre-Series A funding led by Jungle Ventures
RedDoorz, a platform offering budget accommodations across key business and tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, has secured an undisclosed amount in a pre-Series A funding round led by Singapore-based early stage investor Jungle Ventures, according to a press release.
RedDoorz, run by Commeasure Solutions India Pvt Ltd, helps hotels distribute and manage their digital presence, thereby lowering cost of distribution and increasing direct reservations.
Commeasure Solutions, which provides a plug and play solution to hotels, resorts, B&Bs and service apartments across the Asia-Pacific region including India, had raised $1 million (Rs 6.2 crore) in seed funding led by Jungle Ventures earlier in April this year.
Its customers include Sarovar Hotels, Mapple Hotels, Jukaso Hotels, Clarks, Classic Group and Grand Mumtaz Group.
RedDoorz offers budget accommodation providers access to expert advice and assistance to standardise their offering and directly distribute online via RedDoorz' technology platform.
Under the RedDoorz brand and service umbrella, these properties will also receive guidance to build repeat business and enhance online occupancy.
"RedDoorz' offering is helping to standardise a fragmented hotel landscape, especially in the budget space that suffers from low online penetration. We are thrilled to partner with RedDoorz as it expands its offerings across a market that is ripe for transformation," said Amit Anand, founding partner at Jungle Ventures.
Meanwhile, travel and hospitality industry veterans Philip Wolf, founder of Phocuswright, and Ajay Bakaya, executive director at Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, have joined the company's strategic advisory board to help accelerate its growth and product success in its segment, it said.
Commeasure has been co-founded by Amit Saberwal (CEO) and Asheesh Saxena (CTO). Both Saberwal and Saxena have previously worked with MakeMyTrip Ltd.
Saberwal was chief business officer of MakeMyTrip based in Singapore. He was also sales and marketing director with The Park Hotels. Saxena was senior vice president - product development and engineering with online community for researchers Knimbus and also served as director (technology development - online hotels) for MakeMyTrip. He also has experience in delivering hotel and travel technology solutions to organisations like Lastminute.com, Zuji and British Midland.
"Today budget accommodations offer fragmented and non-uniform experiences that affect the consumer satisfaction which can lead to negative reviews on social media and declining footfalls," said Amit Saberwal, co-founder and CEO, Commeasure Solutions.
"This is where RedDoorz has a strong value proposition. We not only help consumers receive standardised services across RedDoorz- enabled budget accommodations but also help the budget hotel owners with technology to distribute across multiple digital platforms. It's a win-win for both the consumer and the hotel owner," he added.
Singapore-based Jungle Ventures is an active VC fund that has a good presence in India.
