Interior design startup Furdo raises $400K
Bangalore-based Immersion Online Services Pvt Ltd that runs interior design startup Furdo has raised $400,000 (Rs 2.64 crore) in an angel round from Bhavdeep Reddy, CEO of Indus Homes Private Ltd, a real estate developer.
Founded in January this year by Kiran Singh, Ishwar Sundararaman and Arvind Singh, Furdo offers customers 3D visualisation of interior design of their homes.
"We offer customers a virtual walk through their homes and they can see every corner of their homes, before making a buy decision," said Ishwar Sundararaman, co-founder and CEO of Furdo. Kiran Singh, chief design officer, is a 3D animator who ran an animation company Show Media Works for a decade before co-founding Furdo. Another co-founder Arvind Singh, who is also chief operating officer, ran a couple of startups before launching the interior design company.
The firm charges customers Rs 10,000 for its services.
Interior design startups have been attracting investors' interest of late as a host of tech-enabled solutions are coming up in this segment. According to market research firm TechNavio, the online home décor market in the country is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 50.42 per cent between 2014 and 2019.
Foyr.com, an online local market place for home décor services, has initiated talks with investors to raise $5 million (Rs 33 crore) is a Series A funding barely three months after raising $1 million (Rs 6.6 crore) in pre-Series funding from Astarc Ventures.
Bangalore-based mobile market place for home décor and interior design services Houzify run by Metamarket Pvt Ltd raised an undisclosed amount from former Infosys CFO TV Mohandas Pai and InMobi founder and CEO Naveen Tewari.
