YatraGenie secures Series A funding
Yatragenie Services Pvt Ltd, which runs online bus ticketing and cab-booking platform YatraGenie.com, has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding from entrepreneur and investor Ash Bhardwaj.
The money raised will be used for expanding operations in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as per a press statement. The company aims to expand into 100 cities from 32 by the year-end.
"The online taxi service market has seen robust growth over the last few years. In the coming years, there will be a significant increase in the demand for quality taxi services. I am delighted to be a part of the YatraGenie team and look forward to contributing to the growth of the company," Bhardwaj said.
Bhardwaj has founded companies such as Snapstick (acquired by Rovi), Chalo (acquired by OpenTable), DropTalk (acquired by DropBox), Socho (acquired by Fly Wheel), InfoNam (a leading engineering services company in Vietnam), AlgoSquare (big data analytics), Orgit (consumer internet) and Netwala (network security).
Prior to YatraGenie, he put money in Crocs, Zappos, GoPro, H20.ai, NetSpeed and Wooqer.
