Online marketplace GetNow secures seed funding from Atulya Mittal
Retail Labs Pvt Ltd, which is behind online marketplace for groceries, electronics, mobiles, computers, home and office supplies GetNow.at, has received an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Atulya Mittal, a nephew of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal and founder of Avan Projects, the company said.
GetNow will use the funding for building technology and expand more into the Nagpur market.
Founded in Nov 2014 by Jayesh Bagde, GetNow has tie-ups with 400 retailers and offers more than 45,000 products through its Android app and website. The company offers the services in Nagpur only and claims to deliver products within 90 minutes.
Before starting GetNow, Bagde founded travel startup TouristLink.com.
"After seeing how Jayesh has boot-strapped the website, app and started generating transactions in a short time span, we are optimistic on its roll out into other cities," said Atulya Mittal.
A graduate from Wharton School with an MBA from Harvard Business School, Mittal has previously worked with Citigroup and Ispat Industries.
"We will keep on expanding to Tier II cities as consumer and retailer pain points are addressed with our solutions," said Bagde.
Recently, online marketplace for preventive health check-ups Healthians.com raised funding from YouWeCan, a new early-stage venture fund floated by cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
