Intex launches Aqua Xtreme V for Rs 11,290 in India; Lava IRIS 414 budget smartphone available for Rs 4,049
Intex Technologies, an Indian mobile, IT and consumer electronics company, has further expanded its 'Aqua' range of smartphones with the launch of a new device. Christened Aqua Xtreme V, the device sports a 5 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. It has been priced at Rs 11,290 in the country.
In addition, Lava has added another member to its 'IRIS' family of smartphones in the Indian market. Christened IRIS 414, this one has a smaller 4 inch display and runs on the Android operating system. Targeted at the budget segment of the market, the smartphone is available for as low as Rs 4,049.

The device has a 5 inch HD IPS touchscreen display (1280×720 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and has 2GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB (13.33GB available to the user), which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
Intex Aqua Xtreme V has a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera with Flash that can also record videos, and a 5MP front-facing camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include panorama, face beauty, live photo, smile shot and object tracking, among others. On the connectivity front, the smartphone has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot.
The dimensions of the device are 144mm x 69.7mm x 6.99mm and its weight is 119.5gm. Intex has provided a 2,000mAh battery in the device, which it claims will provide up to 7 hours of talk time and 180 hours of standby time. The smartphone also has a FM radio, GPS (with A-GPS support) and it comes with dual-SIM capability. It will be available in black, grey and red colours. The company has preloaded a number of apps in the device that include Opera mini, OLX, Flipkart, and Intex Play, among others.
This one features a 4 inch WVGA touchscreen display (800×480 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. It is powered by a 1GHz processor and has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 4GB (1.24GB storage available to the user), which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
Lava IRIS 414 has a 3.2MP fixed focus rear camera with LED Flash that can record videos, and a front facing VGA camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, 3G, as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The dimensions of the device are 120 mm x 63.4 mm x 10.4 mm and its weight is 110 gm.
It comes with dual-SIM capability, GPS (with A-GPS support) and FM radio. The company has provided a 1,400 mAh battery in the device that it claims will provide up to 12 hours of talk time, 4 hours of video playback, and over 125 hours of standby time. The smartphone also comes with the entire suite of Google apps including Google Talk, YouTube, Gmail, Google Search, and Google Play, among others.
In the budget segment, the smartphone will compete with the likes of Lenovo A6000 (Rs 6,999), Microsoft Lumia 435 (Rs 5,821), Samsung Tizen Z1 (Rs 5,900), Huawei Honor Holly (Rs 6,999), ASUS Zenfone C – ZC451CG (Rs 5,999), Xiaomi Redmi 1S (Rs 5,999), Microsoft Lumia 532 (Rs 6,499), as well as Micromax's Bolt A82 (Rs 5,499) and Canvas Pep (Rs 5,999), among others.
