Samsung launches Galaxy A7 smartphone with 4G LTE, 13MP shooter & more for Rs 30,499 in India
Within a month of unveiling the device, Samsung has now launched Galaxy A7 smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone runs on the Android KitKat operating system, and features a 5MP front-facing camera for improved selfies. A member of the Galaxy A series of smartphones, the device is the elder brother to the Galaxy A3 and A5.
Galaxy A7 comes with a full metal unibody design, and at 6.3 mm thickness, it is arguably the thinnest smartphone from the company till date. According to Samsung, A7 expands on the popular services provided by the Galaxy A5 and A3, and enables users to capture and share their every moment on social media platforms.
The smartphone has been launched for Rs 30,499 in the country. In comparison, Galaxy A3 and A5 have been priced at Rs 20,500 and Rs 25,500 respectively.
Specifications
The smartphone has a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (1280×720 pixels resolution) and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Users will have the option to select between a 4G LTE model that is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor (quad A53 1.5GHz + quad A53 1.0GHz) or a 3G model that is powered by Samsung's own octa-core Exynos processor (quad A15 1.8GHz + quad A7 1.3GHz).
Galaxy A7 has 2GB of RAM and the internal memory of the device is 16GB that can be further expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card. It sports a 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash that can also record full HD videos (1080p) at 30 frames per second, and a 5MP front facing camera for video calling. Additional features of the camera include wide selfie, rear-cam selfie, and beauty face, among others.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE (depending on the region), as well as a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The dimensions of the device are 151mm x 76.2mm x 6.3mm and its weight is 141gm. Samsung has provided a 2,600 mAh battery in the smartphone, which also comes with GPS (with A-GPS support) and Near Field Communication (LTE model only). It will be available in pearl white, midnight black and champagne gold colours.
Additional features
The smartphones come with Ultra Power Saving Mode and changeable themes (natural, classic, casual, and romantic). It also offers features like multi screen app function capability, and quick connect. In addition, Samsung has also provided advanced selfie features that include 'Ultra Wide Shot' and 'Auto Selfie' modes, which make it possible to take a photograph using only a voice command or a wave of the hand.
The device also features 'Always Clear Voice Auto Control' to reduce noise from the surrounding environment, and a 'Private Mode' that adds an extra layer of security for important files and documents.
